Dallas defender Ugo Ihemelu scored a last-minute goal to secure a 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution in the MLS on Thursday.
New England’s goalkeeper Matt Reis was brilliant for the visitors making five saves, including two fantastic stops in the final 10 minutes but he failed to keep Ihemelu’s header out in the fifth minute of second-half injury time.
In the 87th minute, Reis tipped Brek Shea’s shot wide as it headed towards the top corner and then four minutes later came off his line to save Fabian Castillo’s one-on-one effort.
But, in the final chance of the match, Zach Lloyd expertly curled a free kick into the box and Ihemelu rose highest to loop his header over Reis into the far corner.
The result ends a three-game run without a victory for Dallas and the Texas-based club move to fifth in the Western Conference with seven points.
New England have six points and sit fifth in the Eastern Conference.
