Heavy rain and lighting brought the MLS match between Houston Dynamo and Chicago Fire to a premature end, with the game tied at 1-1 on Sunday.
The game was initially stopped in the 13th minute as referee Geoff Gamble brought the players off amid torrential rain and lightning.
Play eventually resumed after a 70-minute delay, and it was Houston who took advantage.
Brian Ching with a fantastic reverse ball to Will Bruin, who made no mistake in front of goal.
The home side were back level three minutes later though. Pavel Pardo’s free kick deflecting off Logan Pause and over Tally Hall in the Houston goal.
As the second half began – the weather worsened and the officials called a halt to proceedings after 65 minutes.
The teams shared the spoils, leaving Chicago searching for their first win since March 23, and Dynamo unbeaten in three games.
