A brilliant late show from FC Dallas saw them win 3-2 at Sporting Kansas City, while Seattle thumped the Columbus Crew 6-2 in the MLS on Saturday.

Dallas’ trip to Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas did not start well, with Kei Kamara opening the scoring for the hosts after just 22 minutes.

And the result looked beyond doubt when Mexican Omar Bravo doubled the lead of the hosts after 68 minutes.

But Nigerian defender Ugo Ihemelu kept Dallas alive with a goal just two minutes later and when Teal Banbury was sent off for the hosts with 14 minutes to play, Dallas remained hopeful of grabbing a point.

They did that and more, with Maicon Santos’ 88th minute strike levelling proceedings before substitute Bobby Warshaw bagged a stoppage-time winner.

Seattle stunned Eastern Conference leaders Columbus Crew with a 6-2 win at CenturyLink Field, with Lamar Neagle netting a hat-trick for the winners.

Neagle struck twice in the first half and was joined on the scoresheet by Mauro Rosales and Michael Fucito as Seattle led 4-0 at the break.

Half-time substitute Jeff Cunningham pulled a goal back for the visitors before Neagle got his third, but there was still time for Josh Gardner to have an impact on the match, with the Columbus midfielder reducing the deficit to 5-2 before scoring an own goal to seal the rout.

Shea Salinas’ late winner gave the Vancouver Whitecaps a 1-0 win over Houston Dynamo while Chris Wondolowski scored three minutes from time to give the San Jose Earthquakes a point in a 1-1 draw at Toronto FC.

First-half goals to Dominic Oduro and Cory Gibbs saw the Chicago Fire beat the Colorado Rapids 2-0, while Real Salt Lake won 1-0 on the road against Chivas USA.

The match between DC United and the Portland Timbers was suspended due to Hurricane Irene, which is lashing the east coast of the United States.
