Moratti: Inter on the right track

Inter president Massimo Moratti insists the team are slowly recovering from their disappointing start to the 2011-12 campaign.

The Giuseppe Meazza side struggled to find their best form in the opening months of the season and found themselves in the lower half of the Serie A table until a few weeks ago.

However, they have climbed to fifth place in the standings following a run of five wins in their past six encounters, much to the satisfaction of Moratti.

“Things are starting to add up and we’re now recovering step by step. So that’s good,” Moratti said.

The Inter president went on to discuss the club’s plans for the winter transfer window, and made it clear that coach Claudio Ranieri will be a happy man at the end of January.

“He will be satisfied. We’ll see, but I think that in such a deep squad there is a bit of everything. However, I believe he has something specific in mind, so we’ll try to understand what he means,” Moratti said.

“I really don’t know whether (Genoa’s Juraj) Kucka will arrive. I have to speak with the others regarding this situation.”

Inter are currently preparing for their last game before the winter break at home against Lecce on Wednesday.
