Mosquera to turn down Valencia new contract proposal in favour of Arsenal move

According to Fabrizio Romano, Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera will reject an offer of a new contract from his current club as he intends to join Arsenal this summer. His current deal has a year left to run, but he is keen to be a part of the Gunners’ project under Mikel Arteta.

Personal terms have already been agreed, so there’s no issue there, but a second official bid from Arsenal for his services is still to come after the initial one, amounting to €14million, was rejected by the La Liga side. Conversations between the two clubs continue in order for an agreement to be reached.

The 21-year-old defender has been at Valencia throughout his football journey so far, having risen through their academy ranks to make the senior squad in 2022. In 2024/25, he made a total of 41 appearances in all competitions, scoring just once as his team battled eventually to a 12th-place finish in the Spanish top flight.
