Jose Mourinho has been described as the best coach in the world by Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao.
The 23-year-old was full of praise for his boss as they prepare for Saturday’s La Liga clash against Real Betis at the Bernabeu.
It was Mourinho who pushed the capital city club to sign Coentrao from Benfica in the summer and the Portugal defender cannot thank the coach enough for giving him the chance to shine in Spain.
“Mourinho is the best coach in the world. He is special and is a fantastic person,” he told Real Madrid TV.
“Mourinho means a lot to me. He was the one who wanted me to play for Madrid and I admire him greatly.”
“I am very grateful to him. As a coach he is the best. A special coach. I have seen many players speak badly about coaches, but not Mourinho.”
Coentrao has also taken note of Cristiano Ronaldo’s role in helping him adapt to life in the Spanish capital.
“Cristiano is very important for me and has helped me with everything,” he said.
