David Moyes believes managing Manchester United is on “another level” compared to his previous role at Everton.

The Scot was chosen as the successor to Alex Ferguson, who won 13 Premier League titles in an illustrious managerial career before retiring at the end of last season.

Moyes has had to contend with several issues since taking over at Old Trafford including his battle to keep striker Wayne Rooney at the club, and a struggle to sign midfield reinforcements.

And the 50-year-old concedes the step-up to managing the Premier League champions has at times been challenging.

“The transition from Everton to United has been difficult at times as I have hard decisions to make,” he told Inside United.

“Everton are a great club and I was proud to manage them.

“(But) I can’t deny Manchester United are on another level. Let’s be honest, it would be a step up from just about any club in the world.”

Moyes will take charge of his first competitive match when he faces Wigan Athletic in the Community Shield on Sunday.
