Two sides enjoying a bright end to October, a high-flying Nantes will welcome Monaco to the Stade de la Beaujoire on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Nantes may have seen their winning run come to an end away at Metz last weekend, it has been a remarkable start for fans around the Stade de la Beaujoire. Arguably the surprise package in France’s top-tier this season, Christian Gourcuff’s men find themselves sat second in the table and only behind defending champions PSG. Winning three of their last four Ligue 1 matchups, a huge part of their recent revival has come thanks to some eye-catching performances on home soil. Nantes have won their last four consecutive matches on home soil and are yet to concede a single goal at home since opening the 2019/2020 campaign.

As for the visitors, while Monaco might be coming off the back of a dramatic 3-2 win over Rennes and enjoying a much-needed bounce, there is no doubt that fans around the Stade Louis II will have growing concerns over their continued issues on the road. Suffering a 3-1 hammering against Montpellier in their last appearance on their travels, the former French giants are yet to pick up an away victory this season and they have also recorded just one Ligue 1 victory on the road since December 2018. Still holding a reputation for their inconstancies, we’re backing a high-flying Nantes to come away with all three points on Friday.
