French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes have sacked coach Michel Der Zakarian after only three matches in the current season.

Der Zakarian was responsible for Nantes’ return to France’s top flight after one season at the second level.

But this year hasn’t been as successful so far. The opening match was lost to Auxerre, followed by a draw with AS Monaco. Last Sunday, a 2-0 defeat at Girondins de Bordeaux meant the end of Der Zakarian’s time at the club.

Former Lyon and Marseille boss Alain Perrin has been mentioned as possible replacement. Until then, the team will be led by Christian Lariepe and Vincent Rautureau.
