Napoli have been rocked by the news that forward Ezequiel Lavezzi has been ruled out of action for a month through injury.
The Argentine suffered a thigh strain during Sunday’s 3-1 Serie A loss to Roma at the San Paolo and confirmed on his Twitter account on Monday that he is facing a spell on the sidelines.
“Hello, I wanted to tell you that I have a pull, the healing time is four weeks, greetings,” Lavezzi wrote.
The player will not only miss Wednesday’s Serie A clash with Genoa, he will also most likely be unavailable for next month’s league fixtures against Palermo, Bologna and Siena, as well as the Coppa Italia meeting with Cesena.
Lavezzi, who has been capped 16 times by Argentina, is a key component of Napoli’s three-pronged attack and has scored three times in 14 Serie A appearances so far this season.
