Nigeria will play an international friendly match against Brazil in Abuja, according to reports in the Nigerian media.
The Selecao are expected to field a strong team to play against the Super Eagles on a yet to be decided date in September.
Last year, Nigeria hosted Argentina in a friendly at the same venue, going on to triumph 4-1. It necessitated a rematch in Bangladesh where the Albiceleste avenged their loss by winning 3-1.
An unnamed Nigeria Football Federation official told SuperSport that arrangements are being made and that the exact date “is yet to be confirmed but will be made official very soon”.
“The friendly is the annual ‘Guinness The Match’ tournament where the winner will be handed a trophy.”
Nigeria hosted Brazil in the game to commemorate the opening of the Abuja National Stadium in 2003. They lost that friendly encounter 3-0.
