Milan do not have the finances to sign Davide Astori or Davide Santon, according to the players’ agent.
Both the Cagliaria centre-back and the Newcastle United defender have been reported targets of Massimiliano Allegri at San Siro.
However, according to Renzo Contratto, who represents both players, Milan do not have the finances available to make the deals a reality.
“He is certainly a player who they are interested in but if there are no finances available then a deal can never happen,” Contratto told Milan News.
“There was an attempt for him in January but, in this case too, nothing occurred because of a lack of funds.”
For Santon, any potential move would mean a return to San Siro, having played for Inter before joining Newcastle in 2011.
Astori is a former Milan player, having come through the youth system at the club before joining Cagliari in 2008.
