West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady has revealed midfielder Mark Noble is set to sign a new contract with the club.

The 25-year-old has risen through the ranks at the Hammers and – two brief loan periods aside – has spent his career at Upton Park.

West Ham bounced back from Premier League relegation at the first attempt with a play-off final triumph in May and Brady has praised Noble for his contribution to the club.

“Noble is a proper Hammer, practically born and certainly bred by the club, and I’m really pleased he’s about to sign a new contract,” the London club’s chief told The Sun.

“He’s 25 and already played 190 games for us so there has to be a chance of him hitting as many as 500 one day.

“Mark’s a fine midfielder but much more because he’s a giver as well as a taker, always prepared to put himself out, happy to help with anything that connects to the club and our fans.

“Old-fashioned, I suppose, and I can think of no greater praise.”

The Hammers host winless Sunderland this weekend having won two, drawn once and lost once in their opening four league matches.
