Nowak banned for Chivas scuffle

Philadelphia Union coach Peter Nowak has been suspended and fined for his involvement in a scuffle with Chivas USA last week.

MLS commissioner Don Garber announced that Nowak was sanctioned for leaving his technical area to get involved in the altercation in the fixture on April 21, before he contacted another player and entered the field of play.

Nowak received a red card for the incident and has been suspended a further game for his actions, and was fined a total of US$5,000

Chivas USA manager Robin Frasier was also involved in the incident, but was only fined $500 for his actions.

Both clubs also received fines, with the Union being docked $5,000 while Chivas copped $2,500 in penalties.
