October 15th: Sunday’s Daily Double – 9/1 Special, Tips & Predictions

With the race for EURO 24 once again set to steal most of the headlines this weekend, we certainly have another intriguing set of fixtures from across Europe.

Ahead of a stacked schedule from the likes of Spain’s Segunda division throughout Sunday, we have found a pair of interesting markets that are worth keeping an eye out for.

17:30 Eibar vs Huesca

While Eibar might have suffered Segunda play-off heartbreak last season, it is no secret that Sunday’s hosts have their sights firmly set on securing a La Liga return this time around. Despite enduring a brief wobble when opening September, Joseba Etxeberria’s side have come roaring back in some style.

Last seen putting in another eye-catching performance as they claimed a 2-1 victory away at Amorebieta, Los Armeros have now won each of their previous five second-tier appearances and the mood in their camp appears to be at a red-hot high.

In fact, along with opening up October with a stellar 3-1 win away at Mirandes, Eibar have quickly gained a reputation for their clinical performances in the final third.

Including a 3-0 romp against Tenerife on home soil last month, Etxeberria’s men have notched 12 strikes on their five-match winning run.

Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat just a single point adrift of breaking into the play-off places, Eibar should be smelling a golden chance when a struggling Huesca arrive on Sunday evening.

On the flip side, although Huesca might have clung to their Segunda status last season, Antonio Hidalgo’s side find themselves at the heart of another second-tier struggle.

Last seen getting hit with a 1-0 loss at the hands of Eldense, the Aragon-based outfit have now lost each of their previous three Segunda appearances on the bounce.

Likewise, losing each of their last four straight meetings against the promotion contenders by an aggregate score of 8-3, Huesca should be bracing themselves for another stern challenge here.

19:45 Poland vs Moldova

While Poland might have struggled to find much EURO 24 qualifying stability this year, the Eagles do find themselves sat in pole position to book their ticket to Germany. Making what was a crucial return to winning ways earlier in the week, Michal Probierz’s side will know that they face another must-win showdown on Sunday night.

Eventually claiming a routine 2-0 win away at the Faroe Islands and skyrocketing their way back into the top-two in Group E, Poland will will also be excited to make a return to Warsaw.

Unable to call upon the record-breaking Robert Lewandowski for this month’s qualifying break, Antalyaspor striker Adam Buksa could be smelling the chance to make another statement on the international stage.

Coming off the bench and finding the net against the Faroe Islands in midweek, the 27-year-old has now bagged five goals in as many appearances for club and country and should spearhead Poland’s attack here.

While Moldova might have continued to gain a string of plaudits during this year’s Group E adventure, Sunday’s guests will be more than aware that they face a major uphill struggle here.

Last seen getting hit with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Sweden in a friendly showdown on Thursday evening, the Tricolours are rightfully tipped as a landslide contender in Warsaw.
