Roma have fined Pablo Osvaldo 50,000 euros and suspended him for one game following his altercation with team-mate Erik Lamela.
The striker allegedly punched his colleague in the dressing room after Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Udinese at the Stadio Friuli on Friday.
The club have now decided to fine the player the maximum allowable amount under the regulations of the Lega Calcio, and excluded him from the travelling party for this weekend’s encounter with Fiorentina.
However, in a statement released on Roma’s official website, it was explained that, at the request of his team-mates, the player will be allowed to train with the rest of the squad.
“Following the disrespectful behaviour held in Udine, the player will, following the input of the coach, be fined the maximum amount allowed by the regulations of Lega Calcio,” the statement read.
“At the same time, the coach has decided on the exclusion of player from the squad for the trip to Florence.
“Finally, at for the specific request of team-mates, the coach has decided that the player will be able to train with the rest of the group.”
Osvaldo joined Roma from Espanyol this summer and the Italy international has enjoyed a productive season to date, scoring five goals in 12 Serie A appearances.
