According to reports close to the club, it has been rumoured that Manchester United’s midfielder Owen Hargreaves could be facing a six month absence from the game.

Beset by numerous injury problems Hargreaves has yet to repay the faith and money that the club has invested in him over the past few seasons.

There have also been rumblings within the club that Sir Alex Ferguson is beginning to lose his patience with the former FC Bayern Munich midfielder and that he has been contemplating selling the player during the January transfer window.

The midfielder has decided, according to the reports, to go for an operation in an effort to sort out his knee tendonitis problem.
He will be seeing a specialist within the next few days.
