Palermo: Italian clubs cannot afford Pastore

Palermo chiefs have ruled out the possibility of Javier Pastore moving to another Italian club.

The Rosanero owner Maurizio Zamparini is looking to cash in on his most prized asset, but he is adamant not to do business for anything less than €50 million.

Even though Pastore has just as many suitors in Italy as he has abroad, Palermo vice-president Guglielmo Micciche doesn’t think Serie A clubs can afford the Argentine.

“Pastore is a champion and has many offers,” Guglielmo Micciche told Radio Sportiva.

“It is now necessary to find a club who are capable of matching his fee. If that doesn’t happen then we will happily keep him.

“I believe that foreign clubs are in pole position for him because they have greater economical possibilities.

“It would be hard for any Italian club to pay what we are asking for. I think the €50m to €60m that Zamparini is after is the right valuation for a player like Pastore.”
