Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini wants striker Edin Dzeko to remain at the Etihad Stadium.
The Bosnia international has been linked with a move to Serie A side Napoli as a possible replacement for Edinson Cavani, if the Uruguayan moves on.
Pellegrini admitted that City are in the market for new signings but insisted that he does not want Dzeko to leave.
“We will sign maybe two or three more players,” the Chilean said.
“I spoke with Dzeko while he was on holiday.
“He doesn’t have any problem. He’ll stay.
“For me, he’s a very important player and I’m sure that he will give, this season, the performances we know he can.”
