Gerard Pique wants Barcelona to record 100 points for the first time by winning the last two matches of the Liga season.
Victories away to Espanyol and at home to Malaga would take Barca into triple figures, above the 99 points they recorded under Pep Guardiola in 2009/10.
“We’re attracted by (the 100-point challenge) because in every match we have to go out to win, above all for the honour of the club we represent,” Pique told El Marcador.
“For us it’s a challenge. If we can reach 100 points, and beat the club record, all the better.”
The next challenge standing in their way is a trip across town to the play local rivals Espanyol and Pique believes it will be a unique clash, despite the season winding down.
He said: “It’s always special to go there because of the rivalry between the two teams and because of the stadium, where there’s always a great atmosphere.”
However, not reaching the milestone would not change the fact Barca have had a successful season, according to Pique.
“I give our season a high mark. We’ve got used to the good times. We’ve won a lot over the last few years and we and the coaching staff know that. Winning titles is very difficult and we’ve got used to the good times but winning the league is never easy,” he said.
“The fans were looking forward to enjoying the league with us and once again they proved it by coming on a difficult day (against Valladolid).”
