Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta says he wanted Sunday’s clash with Napoli to go ahead, but respected the decision to call it off.
Authorities decided to postpone the weekend’s big game at the San Paolo after heavy rainfall caused severe disruption around the city of Naples.
And while Marotta was keen for the match to be played before the upcoming international break due to his side’s impressive run of form, he insisted the ruling was correct.
“Of course, the ruling from the authorities prevails and this is the right thing,” Marotta said.
“We are sorry that the game could not go ahead because we prepared well for it and we are in good form after beating Inter last week.”
“However, the facts of these last few days go beyond football and this is how it should be.”
