Hull City got their pre-season campaign under way on Monday, beating North Ferriby United 3-1.

The match offered a surprisingly tight game at times as the Conference North side managed to find the net despite being 2-0 down at half-time in front of a sold-out crowd at the Eon Visual Media Stadium..

Hull’s first two goals came courtesy of Liam Rosenior and Nick Proschwitz before Nathan Jarman headed home to earn the hosts a route back into the tie.

However, just before the final whistle, Stephen Quinn fired an impressive half-volley across the keeper to clinch the Premier League side’s victory.

A Hull XI also featured in another game on Monday evening, making the short trip to Winterton and picking up a fine 6-0 win.

The entertaining match saw an impressive performance from 27-year-old Matty Fryatt who netted a hat-trick after a difficult season plagued by injury.

There were also appearances from Sone Aluko and Joe Dudgeon, the pair’s first since season-ending injuries last term, to give manager Steve Bruce plenty to smile about.

After a strong start to their pre-season campaign, Hull will now jet off to Portugal where they will face Sheffield Wednesday and Braga as they prepare for their first match of the season at Chelsea on August 18.
