PSG challenge Juventus for Daryl Janmaat

French daily newspaper Le Parisien is reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are considering a January bid for Feyenoord defender Daryl Janmaat.

With full-back Christophe Jallet ruled out for two months with a herniated disc, the Saints are looking to sign a new right-sided defender to provide competition for Gregory van der Wiel.

And while they continue to be linked with Tottenham’s Kyle Walker, the French giants are likely to turn their attention to a more realistic target that is Daryl Janmaat.

The 24-year-old has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last year or so, having become an important player for both club and country.

PSG are, therefore, expected to step up their interest in the coming weeks, although they could face stiff competition from Juventus, who are also keen.

Daryl Janmaat has made a total of 49 league appearances for Feyenoord having joined from Heerenveen, while he started 8 2014 World Cup qualifiers for Netherlands.
