PSG forward set for New York move

French newspaper Le Parisien claims Paris Saint-Germain forward Peguy Luyindula is nearing a move to New York Red Bulls.

Having failed to make a single Ligue 1 appearance for the Saints this season, the 33-year-old is almost certain to leave Parc des Princes in the January transfer window.

According to Le Parisien, Luyindula’s next destination will be the MLS, i.e. New York Red Bulls.

Namely, Luyindula is a close friend of New York star Thierry Henry and everything suggests he will join the former Arsenal star at Red Bulls.

The Frencman would thus become the second major signing for the 2013 season, after Juninho Pernambucano joined on a free transfer from Vasco da Gama.

Peguy Luyindula has spent most of his career playing for Ligue 1 clubs Strasbourg, Lyon, Marseille and PSG, while he also enjoyed a short spell with Levante.

The striker has made a total of 6 appearances for France national team and scored 1 goal.
