Queen of the South and Partick Thistle will meet in the Scottish League Challenge Cup Final after winning their respective semi-finals.

Queen of the South needed extra-time in their 2-1 win over Arbroath as a Ryan McGuffie strike with just three minutes remaining proved to be the difference.

Derek Young had fired the home side ahead after nine minutes from 20 yards before Alex Keddie levelled proceedings, heading in a Paul Currie corner just before the hour.

Both sides had chances to win the game in normal time but failed to take them, with McGuffie’s goal deep into extra time winning Queen of the South through to the final.

The Scottish Second Division side will face Partick Thistle after they recorded a 1-0 away win over Cowdenbeath.

Steven Craig scored the only goal of the game with 16 minutes remaining, tucking the ball away after he was played in by Steven Lawless.
