Adrien Rabiot has chosen to join Barcelona once his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer, according to Le Parisien.
The story about the future of the 23-year-old midfielder is one of those long and wearying transfer sagas, with a twist happening every now and then. Since the start of the season, he has been locked in battle with the Ligue 1 champions over a new deal, and he rejected three lucrative offers to extend his stay at the Parc Des Princes before it became absolutely clear he would be leaving the French capital soon.
With the situation as it is, no club was willing to put in a serious offer for his services in January, given that he will be a free agent soon. Rabiot remains a PSG player, but he has been completely frozen out of the team, and head coach Thomas Tuchel isn’t counting on him at all anymore.
A number of clubs have been reported to have expressed an interest, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United, but Barcelona always seemed the likeliest choice.
