Racing Santander have denied allegations of match-fixing in their 3-0 win over Hercules on the final day of the 2012-13 campaign.

Racing Santander have denied allegations of match-fixing in their 3-0 win over Hercules on the final day of the 2012-13 campaign.

Alejandro Menendez’s side suffered relegation from the Segunda Division last term, despite rounding of their season with victory against a team also struggling at the bottom.

The fixture was recently the subject of scrutiny from newly appointed LFP president Javier Tebas, who has vowed to stamp out match-fixing in the Spanish game.

And Racing have vehemently denied any wrongdoing, and say they will cooperate fully with any investigation.

“Racing has absolute confidence in the players in its squad and rejects any malicious report that calls into question its honesty and professionalism,” a statement read.

“The club is the first to want to clear up the situation and will immediately make itself available to UEFA and the LFP to mount a thorough investigation of the facts published in the media.”

Racing’s relegation from the Segunda came just a season after they had suffered the same fate in La Liga.

Prior to that campaign, they had spent 18 of the last 19 seasons in the Spanish top flight.
