Ranieri thrilled with entertaining display

Inter coach Claudio Ranieri says his side’s 4-4 Serie A draw against Palermo was a good advertisement for attractive Italian football.

Diego Milito bagged four goals, while Fabrizio Miccoli responded with a hat-trick for Palermo as the two sides could not settle their differences on a snowy San Siro pitch.

“It was a spectacular match and I want to thank all those who allowed the game to go ahead with their hard work,” Ranieri said.

“I think that the match repaid them for their efforts.”

“I am sad with the draw but the result is fair, considering the chances created by both teams. This was an advert for football.”

Ranieri once again had trouble finding the right place on the field for Wesley Sneijder, who was moved out wide in the second half after being closer to the strikers in the opening session.

“I put Wesley wide left because (Ezequiel) Munoz was not moving forward and attacking,” he said.

“He played well and did some important things, but he can still improve.”

Inter lie in fifth position in the Serie A standings, eight points adrift of leaders Juventus, who have one match in hand after their contest against Parma was called off due to extreme weather conditions.
