Premier League strugglers West Ham have announced the signing midfielder Abdul Razak on a short-term deal.

The 21-year-old has signed on at Upton Park until the end of the season and adds depth to Sam Allardyce’s squad as they bid to avoid relegation.

Razak began his career at Manchester City and made his Premier League debut at the age of 18, but he struggled for first-team football at the club.

The Ivory Coast international made just 11 appearances in all competitions for City, while he failed to play regularly in loan stints at Portsmouth, Brighton and Hove Albion and Charl

He joined Russian Premier League side Anzhi in September and made 11 appearances, including four in the UEFA Europa League.

Anzhi sit bottom of the table after 19 matches, having failed to win a league match, form that leaves them five points adrift of safety.

Razak has also won five caps for his country.
