Redknapp: Ledley King could leave next summer

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has admitted that long-serving defender Ledley King may leave the club at the end of the season.

The former England international’s career has been blighted with injuries and Harry Redknapp admits the veteran defender could leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

“Ledley’s a difficult one. He has to play this year,” Redknapp was quoted as saying in Daily Mail.

“I can’t go to the chairman and say: “Give Ledley a contract,” if he has only played two games because he isn’t going to do that.

“This is Ledley’s big year, he’s got to play 20 games or so, really. Ledley needs to put some games in this year to get another contract.”

Next summer?!!? Am surprised he didn’t go this summer! King was a great defender but like hargreaves injuries have blighted his career. Don’t know how many games he has played over e last 3 years or so. If jenas left WHY KEEP HIM? He has to go. Period.
