Richardson tips Giants Superbowl double

Former NFL fullback Tony Richardson has backed the New York Giants to win another Superbowl next season.

Richardson, who finished his 16-year career with the Giants’ main rivals, the New York Jets, nominated the Giants as the favourites for next year’s title.

“As an organisation they are very good year after year and coming off a Super bowl they should be favourite to win it again,” Richardson said.

“But Tom Brady has had his longest season in the uniform (for the Patriots) and Drew Breeze is in New Orleans so I think those are the three top teams in the National Football League.”

The 40-year-old, who was picked for the Pro Bowl three times, also predicted that the Indianapolis Colts will pick quarterback Andrew Luck as the first pick in the NFL draft after they released Peyton Manning on Wednesday.

The NFL Draft will be held from April 26-28.

“I think the first pick of the draft will obviously be Andrew Luck and it looks like the Colts will pick him up after Peyton Manning has been released,” Richardson said.

“The number two pick will be the quarterback from Baylor, RG3 [Robert Griffin] who’s actually very good.”

“So it should be an interesting draft to see where they end up.”
