AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri said there is plenty of room for improvement after his team’s 4-1 home victory over Parma.
A hat-trick from Antonio Nocerino and a late Zlatan Ibrahimovic strike gave the Serie A champions a comfortable victory over the Stadio Ennio Tardini outfit, whose only goal came courtesy of a Sebastian Giovinco finish.
Allegri was visibly pleased with the result against Parma, but stressed his side are still far from their prime.
“We played a good match, but in some moments we could have done better,” Allegri told Mediaset.
“We suffered a bit in the early stages, then we played like we know and we managed to score.”
“It was important to win this match to get closer to the top. But we still gave our opponents too much room to shoot from distance.”
“We must meet to try to fix some of the errors we are making. We have not yet found a balance.”
Allegri won the Scudetto last season in what was his first year in charge of the club, but he has yet to sign an extension to his contract, which runs out at the end of the current campaign.
But the coach said: “There is no problem about my renewal. I prefer to wait until June, then we can see.”
“I have spoken with (vice-president Adriano) Galliani and I have decided I will not talk to him about my contract until June.”
