Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has described the Camp Nou outfit as ‘the world’s most transparent club’.
Barca are the subject of a new book which profiles the club’s connections to its Catalan cultural and political roots, issues which have recently come to the fore once again, as talk of independence surfaces in the region.
Speaking at the launch of the publication on Thursday, Rosell praised the four-time European champions’ continuing efforts to make the stories behind the club more accessible.
“Barca is more than a club and will be for its entire history,” Rosell told reporters.
“At Barca you know everything, we are probably the world’s most transparent club. Lluis Lainz (author of the book) has helped make this so, explaining the stories that have taken place behind closed doors.”
Barcelona face Spanish champions Real Madrid in the first Clasico of the new Liga season on Sunday.
