Tottenham Hotspur striker Louis Saha believes France’s positive recent form means they are well placed to challenge at Euro 2012.
France, who topped their Euro 2012 qualifying group, are enjoying a 16-match unbeaten and defeated Germany 2-1 in their most recent international friendly.
Saha, 33, has said there is a lot of positivity around the French camp and feels they can pose a serious challenge in the European Championship.
Speaking to RMC on Wednesday, Saha said: “We’ll go (to the competition) with more respect. There’s been a lot of matches undefeated.”
“There is a positive dynamic. Winning in Germany, it was huge.”
“We developed an interesting game especially as Karim (Benzema) and Loic (Remy) were not present. The back-up players showed that they can do something in the competition.”
“It was a short competition to go through in 2004. It can go very quickly. We have seen Greece win, and I don’t know why France cannot win.”
France have been drawn in Group D of the competition alongside England, Sweden and co-hosts Ukraine.
