Market: Saint Etienne to beat Montpellier

Odds: 21/10 @ Bet365

Looking to move one step closer to securing European football for the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard next season, Saint Etienne will look to carry on their fine form when they travel to Montpellier on Friday night.

For Michel Der Zakarian’s Montpellier side, despite showing improvements from the side that only just avoided the drop last season, La Paillade have once again recently begun to struggle and any hopes of securing European football appear to be fading by the week. Coming off the back of a 1-0 loss away at Nice, Montpellier have now recorded just one win in their last nine, a run that stems back to the start of February. It will be their attacking issues that also cause Zakarian some issues, La Paillade now hold the third worst attacking statistics in Ligue 1.

As for Les Verts, Jean-Louis Gasset’s side have embarked on a stellar run of form and are marching towards securing Europa League football for the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard next season. Now sat three points above their hosts on Friday night, Saint Etienne are coming off the back of a 2-1 win over Troyes on the road, the Greens are now unbeaten in Ligue 1 since the middle of January, now on a 12 match unbeaten run, Saint Etienne have also remained incredibly consistent in front of goal. The Greens have now scored at least once in all bar one of their games in 2018.
