Gold Coast United midfielder Jonas Salley faces a two-match ban for ‘serious foul play’ on Sydney FC attacker Dimitri Petratos.
The incident occurred during Sunday’s A-League clash between the two sides at Skilled Park.
The Ivory Coast-born 29-year-old was offered the suspension after the match review panel sat on Tuesday, ruling the challenge worthy of suspension.
Salley, who is on an injury replacement deal with the bottom-placed club, has until midday Wednesday to appeal the ban, or he will miss Gold Coast’s clashes against Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar.
The minimum sanction for the offence of ‘serious foul play’ is one match.
In other A-League disciplinary news, Wellington Phoenix striker Mirjan Pavlovic has been handed a one-match suspension for a crude tackle in their 1-0 win over Perth on Saturday.
Pavlovic, 22, was shown a straight red card by referee Ryan Shepheard for the challenge on Steve Pantelidis late in the match.
