Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger will miss his side’s clash with Hannover on Saturday.
The 27-year-old tore ankle ligaments in February, but returned to match action in the Bundesliga clash against Hoffenheim on March 10.
However, the Germany international endured a recovery setback ahead of Bayern’s 6-0 win over Hertha Berlin, and will miss the encounter against Hannover at Allianz Arena.
“The problem will not stretch over the coming weeks,” Bayern sporting director Christian Nerlinger said on Friday without specifying a comeback date.
Schweinsteiger left training early on Thursday after suffering from the ankle problem.
Meanwhile, Nerlinger said Bayern were wary of the threat Hannover would pose under manager Mirko Slomka.
“I have been impressed with Hannover during the last few years. They’ve done an excellent job, which is all down to the manager,” Nerlinger said.
“We need to be very concentrated because they attack at speed and punish mistakes when passing, or defensively.
“We need to concentrate and keep our order.”
Bayern, who moved into the DFB-Pokal final with a win over Borussia Moenchengladbach on Wednesday, travel to Marseille for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final after the Hannover encounter.
