Philippe Senderos said Fulham have the ability to finish in the Premier League’s top seven and equal their best ever top-flight performance.

And with the west Londoners currently just two points shy of seventh place, Senderos said confidence is high.

“We have a great quality in the team and our home form has been brilliant this season,” the former Arsenal and AC Milan player told reporters.

“If we continue like this and playing well and getting goals like our forwards have been doing then I think we have got a chance (of finishing seventh).

“We have to be ambitious.”

Senderos netted for the first time for the club in Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Wigan, and was delighted to score what proved to be the winning goal.

“They have beaten big teams in the last few weeks and I thought we did brilliantly,” he said.

“We had a couple of breaks on the counter attack but couldn’t score and we looked dangerous from a few set-pieces.

“Thank God I put my head in the right place at the right time. I thought it was coming and it was good to get the goal.

“It has been a while since I have scored so I was really happy.”
