Sevilla can continue their successful start to the La Liga season when they host Mallorca on Sunday.

Gregorio Manzano’s side have gone four matches unbeaten in all competitions since their 5-4 defeat at the hands of Barcelona, including an impressive 2-1 victory away at Real Zaragoza last time out.

They are still without star winger Jesus Navas, who is continuing to recover from an ankle injury.

The following weekend the club will be paying tribute to former starlet Antonio Puerta, who died in 2007 after suffering a series of cardiac arrests during a league match against Getafe.

But sporting director Ramon Rodriquez is keen for his side to focus on the task in hand.

“We are focused on Sunday’s game against Mallorca,” Rodriquez said.

“The week after, we are keen to pay tribute to Antonio Puerta with a good game and victory against Getafe.”

Rodriguez also outlined the club’s strategy for the coming transfer season.

“The sports division’s work is all about combing the market for players for every position. We look at our short, medium and long term needs,” Rodriguez said.

“What we are working on now is that the president maintains this high level of players that we have, with the parallel task always carried out in coordination with the manager – in this case Gregorio Manzano.”
