Controversial Boca Juniors signing Santiago Silva is in line for his Primera Division debut against San Lorenzo on Sunday.
According to Ole, Boca coach Julio Cesar Falcioni will play the powerful striker as the club look to extend their unbeaten run which stretches back to the previous Clausura tournament.
Silva is expected to partner Pablo Mouche up front, with Dario Cvitanich dropping to the bench.
The former Fiorentina man was not cleared to play initially as he had already represented the Italian side and Boca’s local rivals Velez Sarsfield across the 2011-12 season and doing so for a third club would be in contravention of FIFA regulations.
Silva was cleared to play in the Copa Libertadores and made his first appearance against Zamora in a 0-0 draw last month.
A knee injury to Nicolas Colazo, however, opened up a registration spot for the club and they appealed to the Argentine Football Association (AFA).
Velez put in a strong protest against the move, but a general meeting of Primera directors voted to allow Silva to play domestic football.
