Sochaux have sacked coach Mehmed Bazdarevic with immediate effect after a string of poor performances in Ligue 1.

The 51-year-old’s dismissal comes after a run of two wins in his last 22 games in charge at the Auguste Bonal stadium, leaving Sochaux at the bottom of the league with 21 points, five adrift of safety.

Eric Hely, previously the club’s reserves coach, will take over on an interim basis.

Hely will travel to Evian TG for his first game in charge on Saturday.
