Soldado gunning for revenge

Valencia striker Roberto Soldado is out for revenge against Real Madrid on Saturday.

Soldado was part of the Valencia side which lost 6-3 to Real in La Liga towards the end of last season and now he wants to even the score.

“Not all the players who were there last year are still here, but the result really hurt and we haven’t forgotten about that game yet,” Soldado told Marca.

“We have to make amends this weekend and I’m desperate for revenge. We can’t let something like that happen again.”

“We have learned our lessons from the loss last term. We now know how to take them on though and we will do a lot better.”

Soldado will be hoping Brazilian striker Jonas continues to find the back of the net when he returns to La Liga action.

Jonas scored twice as Brazil beat Egypt 2-0 in Qatar on Monday.

The 27-year-old broke his international duck in style, finding the net once in each half as the five-time world champions, fielding a second-string side, totally outplayed the ailing Africa giants.

Jonas created a sensation last month when he scored the second fastest Champions League goal in history by finding the net inside 10.5 seconds against Bayer Leverkusen.
