Andy Carroll, Kevin Nolan and Gary Hooper will take part in a benefit match for the late Mitchell Cole at Stevenage on Tuesday.
Cole – who graduated from the West Ham academy – enjoyed stints at Grays Athletic, Southend United and Stevenage before tragically passing away at the age of 27 due to a heart condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Cole’s brother-in-law, West Ham midfielder Joe Cole, has helped arrange the match and will also play, as a Stevenage XI take on a Mitchell Cole XI at the Lamex Stadium.
Joining Carroll and Nolan will be the likes of West Ham team-mates Matt Jarvis and Mark Noble, while ex-Grays striker Hooper, who is now at Celtic, is also set to feature.
Retired Stevenage players Barry Hayles and Steve Guppy will play as well, as they pay their respects to Cole, who made nearly 150 appearances for the club.
Proceeds from the friendly match will be split between the Cole family and their preferred charity, The Cardiomyopathy Association.
