(GSM) – Stoke City have secured the signing of Trindad and Tobago striker Kenwyne Jones from Sunderland.

The strikerm who played at Stoke on loan in 2005, has now moved to play under Tony Pulis for a club-record £8 million.

The 25 year-old has signed a four-year contract to play at the Britannia Stadium, a move which will most likely put an end to rumors of Stoke’s chase of Nice striker Loic Remy.

“Kenwyne is unplayable on his day which is why this is a fantastic signing for this club,” boss Tony Pulis told the club website.

“We need goals in our team and we also need strong competition amongst our strikers if we are to continue improving at this level.”

Jones said his relationship with Pulis was a major reason in his decision to choose Staffordshire.

“The fact that I know the manager, some of the players and the place so well has obviously been an influence on me coming here,” Jones said.

“This is an exciting new chapter in my career and I want to do my best for a club that has clearly had great success since I was last here.”
