Andrea Stramaccioni says he is delighted with Inter Milan’s capture of Alvaro Pereira from Porto.

The Uruguay international, 26, completed his move to the Serie A club on Thursday and is expected to be presented to the press before the start of the season, much to the satisfaction of Stramaccioni.

“I would like to thank Marco Branca and Piero Ausilio for their hard work. The technical director has been in Portugal for the last 48 hours and has come back with the player we wanted, Alvaro Pereira,” he told Inter Channel.

“I thank them because they, along with the president, have granted my wishes.

“A new Inter side is being created with a very clear vision. The president, coach and directors all share that. We’ve only brought in players who can help this project.”

Pereira is Inter’s third signing this week after previously securing the services of Walter Gargano and Antonio Cassano.
