Suarez: My mind is on Uruguay

Uruguay forward Luis Suarez is focused only on his country’s FIFA Confederations Cup campaign, despite ongoing speculation about his future.

The Liverpool striker has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, and has suggested he would be open to a transfer to the Bernabeu.

Suarez, who has also been touted as a possible target for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, will feature against Spain in Uruguay’s opening Confederations Cup fixture on Sunday.
And the 26-year-old has insisted he is concentrating purely on achieving success with his country for the time being.
“Here I come to play for Uruguay and not thinking what I can do to benefit a transfer,” he said.
“My only goal is to win the cup.”
Speaking about his potential move away from Liverpool, Suarez added: “For now there is nothing new.”
The former Ajax forward has become disillusioned with the English media, a feeling that intensified for the response to his 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.
He still has six games of the suspension to serve, but Suarez is keen to be recognised for his footballing talent, rather than his misdemeanours.
“I had wrong attitudes, I recognised my mistakes, I apologised and would love to be valued more for my game on the field,” he commented.
