Sunderland have confirmed their interest in signing West Ham United midfielder Robert Snodgrass, according to the Mail Online.
The Scotland international moved to the London Stadium for over £10m just seven months ago but has been told he is free to find another club.
The Black Cats had been interested in signing Max Gradel from Bournemouth on loan though he has opted to join French outfit Toulouse leaving manager Simon Grayson having to look elsewhere.
Snodgrass made just fifteen appearances for the Hammers while he netted fourteen times in fifty-six games for previous club Hull City.
He has also played for Leeds United and Norwich City since moving south of the border, having began his career with Livinsgston in his native Scotland.
Internationally he has been capped twenty-three times for his country, scoring six goals.
Sunderland are twelfth in the table having taken just five points from their opening four games and can now be backed at 6/1 to be promoted.
