Korean club Suwon Bluewings will appeal the suspensions handed down to them after their AFC Champions League semi-final first leg against Al Sadd.
The Asian Football Confederation announced on Tuesday that Suwon striker Stevica Ristic and coach Ko Jong-Su would be suspended for six games for their part in the all-in brawl which marred the first leg.
Ristic was red carded for his part in the melee along with Al Sadd’s Abdulkader Keita, however the latter avoided a similar suspension and is free to play in Saturday’s final against Jeonbuk Motors.
Suwon have labelled the decision ‘unfair’ and confirmed on Wednesday that they would appeal it.
Ristic’s suspension applies for domestic matches too, which is a blow for Suwon ahead of the Korean championship playoffs where they are due to meet Busan I’Park on November 20.
