Teenager makes cut for Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso have named their final squad for the 2012 African Cup of Nations, after the country was cleared to compete in the tournament.

Burkina Faso was cleared by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to participate in the tournament after Namibia’s legal challenge over Cameroonian-born Herve Zengue’s eligibility to represent the Stallions was dismissed on Tuesday.

Chelsea’s 16-year-old Bertrand Traore has been selected and will likely be the youngest player of the tournament, which gets underway on January 21 in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Saidou Mady Panandetiguiri of Maltese outfit Valletta and Polish club Gornik Zabrze’s striker Prejuce Nakoulma were added to the final group after both recovered from injury.

Burkina Faso have been drawn in Group B alongside the Ivory Coast, Sudan and Angola. They begin their tournament against Angola on January 22.
