Buriram United saw their title push hit a blip when their main rivals Muang Thong United held them to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

A tight fixture at the Thunder Castle Stadium saw both goals come from penalties as Osmar Barba’s 60th-minute effort was cancelled out five minutes later by Mario Gjurovski.

As both of the top two failed to clinch a win, third-placed Chonburi sealed a 1-0 victory over Bangkok United on Saturday with Suttinun Phukhom striking in the first half.

Withaya Laohakul’s men then showed resilience in defence to keep their opponents out to seal the three points and move within four points of the second.

Samut Songkhram grabbed a big win to move out of the relegation zone, beating Chainat 1-0 on Saturday with the goal coming after 61 minutes from Porawat Siriwatanagorn.

Chiangrai United drop into the relegation zone after their goalless draw with Songkhla United.

Elsewhere in the weekend’s action, there were good wins for Ratchaburi and Army United with the former overcoming Pattaya United 3-0 and the latter edging TOT 3-2.

While Army United have Bjorn Lindemann to thank, with the German striking twice within three minutes in stoppage time, Ratchaburi shared their goals out with Cardozo Douglas, Jhon Obregon and Jose Luis Cordero all involved.

The middle of the table ended up fairly unchanged as Osotspa, Bangkok Glass, BEC Tero Sasana and Suphanburi shared the points between them in their matches.

Osotspa held Bangkok Glass to a goalless draw at home, as an 83rd minute effort from Suphanburi saw them keep their opponents off their tails.
